Hi all,
Well I went and checked out tribe.net, and it may be something where I'll read some of the tribe posts once in a while, just to pass time on the computer, but I don't know as I'll be joining it any time soon, unless other people I know are on there. Apparently, it's to find things in your area, like recommending things, such a good restaurant, or advice on finding an apartment, and just in general finding out about anything in your area. I'm not interested in finding people in my area, and for recomendations of things or places in your area, they would have to know your city as well as your state, and giving out my city is a definite no no for me. I was looking under tribes and couldn't really find anything up my alley so to speak, so I went in the category that said, other, and found a couple of inappropriate kind of posts, really insulting.
I used the search option to see if I could find any tribes for the blind, and didn't find any really pertaining to blind chat in general. There was some kind of discussion thread about whether you'd rather be deaf or blind. One woman replied and said, can I be mute instead? And still someone else said, isn't the correct phrase deaf and dumb? I never liked that word dumb, meaning unable to speak, because it implies deaf people are stupid, which they are not. Anyway, it was a bit overwhelming on the sight, I think there are around 452000 tribes, unless I misunderstood something. Still don't think I'll join it anyways soon, maybe not ever, but I can read them without registering.

hmm...
Hmmm this site sounds interesting, but i'm not big on giving out my location either. And overwhelming sites tend to ... well ... overwhelm me! Lol! So maybe I'll check it out, just to browse.

know exactly what you mean Caitlin, and it did look a bit overwhelming to me, but it was nice of quirk to post it here. I was just hoping it was more of a just a board type thing, like this site, or e-pals, oh well.
